About North American

Shared Values

Corporate values are "shared" in that all the people associated with the organization are committed to acting in ways that reflect these values. Similar to individual values, corporate values are invisible. Although, we "see" values in the behaviors throughout the organization they are most visible in how employees treat each other, the way customers are treated and the way vendors are treated.

North American has identified four values that "speak" to how we want to live individually and how we want to behave as an organization. The leadership of the company is committed to these values and believe they are the foundation to creating an even more successful company. These corporate values are:

Integrity

Integrity means a sense or a feeling of wholeness, completeness and alignment. Our beliefs "hold together" in some pattern. Our principles are in congruence with our behavior. We don't say one thing and do another. Integrity is also a commitment to the "truth". Consequently, we are not comfortable with simplistic solutions; we are not satisfied with less than high-quality products, processes, service and results. We are not comfortable with less than honest communication.

Openness

Openness is holding dear the importance of honest, straightforward communication. Valuing openness means North American supports and encourages its employees to say what is on their minds. We seek, encourage and give feedback to one another - both appreciative and constructive. Valuing openness means we listen for understanding and approach others with innocence and have the courage to tell it like it is.

Respect

North American believes that cooperation, interdependence and teamwork is essential. Indeed, it is the competitive edge in today's increasingly complex and relentlessly changing business environment. Fundamentally and seemingly ironic to building a team is "respect" for the individual.

Valuing respect means that we accept and believe that each of us is different. We believe that each of us is doing the best we can do and acknowledge that while we are fundamentally and wonderfully unique, we all want basically the same thing. Our behavior reflects that we appreciate and celebrate the differences among us. Lastly, we believe that each of us is capable of becoming better than we are.

Accountability

Valuing accountability means believing the effort put forth at work is not about making "their company" successful; rather it is about making "our company" successful. It is believing that we are powerful people, capable of getting the results we want. Accountability means to strive to shape events rather than have events shape the individual. It is the rock solid belief in the importance of the marriage of individual growth with the financial success of the company. Valuing accountability means addressing conflict, barriers, setbacks and failures with positive attitudes and behaviors.

Accountability. Ownership. It makes all the difference in the world.

Benefits
